“th1rt33n m00ns” is a multisensory video installation in which a coming-of-age and transition story unfolds through thirteen stages. From girlhood to womanhood, the body in transition and the menstruation that transforms it. Transition as something discomforting, painful and shameful, followed by the transition towards something empowering, connective, and liberating. Through reclamation and re-connection with natural elements, this work proposes the forming of new bodies creating a sacred space for them to exist in.
During the exhibition there were three videos playing simultaneously on different devices. The soundscape was consisted of the artist’s narration and the original music of Panagiotis Rousseas

13 moons refer to the measurement of time based on the cycles of the Moon, where a year is divided into 13 months, instead of 12. The 13th day falls in the middle of a lunar cycle, precisely at the moment between death and rebirth. It used to be a day of celebration and rituals, carrying immense power due to its association with fertility and the menstrual cycle. Thus, while it was a sacred number, when the solar calendar prevails, the months become 12, it is henceforth considered an “anathema” and is associated with a jinx that lacks a clear origin…
